On the 20th and 21st of October 2025, the 1º Docomomo Portugal Congress, entitled "Teaching, Reuse and Transformation of Modern Architecture and the City", will take place in Coimbra.
The main objective of the congress is to promote a space for debate and sharing of ongoing research on Portuguese modern heritage, with a focus on its transformation and rehabilitation. It will be an opportunity to disseminate knowledge and promote interdisciplinary dialogues between architects, historians, designers, researchers, and the general public.
The key moments of the congress will include keynote lectures by national and international architects, presenting interventions considered to be references in the context of the rehabilitation of modern architecture, and an open call for papers, inviting proposals aligned with the theme of the congress, to be presented in thematic sessions.
The aim is to publish the articles presented at the conference, either in the form of proceedings or as a special issue of a journal, with the aim of promoting the dissemination of shared knowledge at national and international levels.
The programme includes the presentation of the paper "O reconhecimento do património Moderno em habitação plurifamiliar: o Campo do Luso como base para um método de reflexão", by Luciana Rocha (CEAU-FAUP), Ana Tostões (CiTUA-IST), Rui Póvoas (CEAU-FAUP), Marco Reschetti (FAUP).
